I am so sad to hear of Sue Ellen’s passing. When I was just a few years older than her, I used to go to her farm owned by her parents Henry and Shirley. Her cousin Robert and I were the best of friends back in the 50’s . Sue Ellen had a heart of gold even at that young age. It does not surprise me of her faith in God and her love of Rawdon and the community. God bless you Sue Ellen, and when I look at the stars, you will be in my heart
May her family be spared further sorrow.

My Tantie Sue. The gap that has been created by the passing of the two of you seems unending and bottomless. The times I found refuge at the farm, those times my life crashed around me. Uncle Chris, The good and interesting times we had at that kitchen table. That you are both gone so suddenly has been so jarring. Aunt and Uncle, Lizard and Serpent. We will all miss you so dearly.

Sue Ellen, I still have the wedding quilt on our bed. When you gave it to us 28 years ago, it was so beautiful, I wanted to lock it away to preserve it. You told me that you made it to be used. You told me to put it on my bed, which I did, and it is still there, still as perfect as the day you gave it to me. I will miss your many kindnesses and your understanding. Words just don’t seem to suffice.
Michèle Manion dit :
Sue was introduced to me by Sharon Tinkler, my sister in law at the time. I can’t imagine anyone not liking Sue. She helped everyone with whatsoever they needed. She seemed to have an unlimited amount of energy. I remember when she held an overnight sleepover for the little girls at the Anglican Church hall, her daughter Anne & my daughter Gabrielle were part of it. They did all sorts of activities, one such was learning the basics of quilting and how to sew buttons. I still have the quaint assortment of sewn together plaid patches, each holding 9 or so differently shaped buttons. Back then, when I lived in Rawdon, Sue & Chris with Sharon, were frequently part of every special event family diner we had. They were family. The beauty of that was even after I moved and we wouldn’t see each other for years, once we got back together Sue would just pick up our friendship as if no time at all had gone by. I will remember her kindness, her knowledge in all things “feminine”, her outgoingness and her friendship. I will miss her cheerful “hello’s”. Sláinte ??

Debbie Poirier dit :
It is with great sadness I learned of Sue-Ellen and Chris’s passing. I recall seeing Sue-Ellen at our school in Rawdon. She had beautiful blonde hair and was studious. As she was a little ahead of me, our paths did not cross much. She was simply a very special member of our school days and a welcome presence. To Kevin and family and to Anne who I have not had the pleasure to meet, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Patricia and Alex dit :
This has been such a terrible shock and I am so sorry for your loss, Anne and to all the family. Sadly, we had not been in touch for too many years and this is a regret I will carry now.
Sue Ellen made us a beautiful quilt for our wedding which I used and then put it away to preserve it because I love it so much. Sue would not approve, she wanted it used! Sorry, Sue!
I have many fond memories of visits to the farm where we talked about everything under the sun and drank copious pots of tea along with other beverages. Sue and Chris were a perfect pair. Both very smart and kind and I feel blessed to have known them.
Anne, you are the product of exceptional people and I know that you will be feeling their loss profoundly and yet I know you are a strong young woman and you will carry their love in your heart forever. I extend my love & sympathy to the whole family and am comforted by knowing you have each other.
Judy Lanoue dit :
I’ve known Sue Helen for a few years and all I can say is that she,was the most nicest lady. Worked hard as a volonteer for many many organisations. I worked with her at CIM’s. Her smile was contagious. I miss you lots Sue
